Come and learn in a class with a maximum of 6 people, ensuring quality time with your tutor. By acquiring the following skills, we will confidently start you on your journey to dressmaking by making the Tilly and the Buttons Jaimie Pyjama Bottoms/Shorts.
This course is not suitable for complete beginners. You should have had some experience of using a sewing machine and preferably have completed a 'Beginners to Sewing' course, luckily this workshop is part of our February Beginners to Improvers Weekend! What will I learn?
- to read and understand a simple commercial paper pattern
- measure yourself correctly and choose the right size
- tracing off your size from a paper pattern and make necessary alterations
- following the layout and cutting out your fabric
- construction techniques, including choosing seams, using interfacing, choosing a hem, inserting an elastic waistband
- pressing techniques

You will get a choice from a pre-cut selection of fabrics to make your pyjamas, ensuring you get exactly the right type of fabric and give you the best start. We will email you the choices closer to the time of your workshop.
