FAQ's

Do I need to bring my own machine?

No, we have Janome 5060QDC's for each person in our class. Don't worry if you have never used a computerised machine before, it's easy to learn. Unfortunately we cannot facilitate anybody bringing in their own machines.

What do we do for lunch?

If you are on an all day workshop you are welcome to stay in for lunch or go out to one of Leamington's many lovely cafes. If you are leaving a child with us for a full day workshop please bring a packed lunch or notify us if you will be collecting your child over the lunch break. Lunch is usually 1 hour unless specified otherwise.

What age can my child start classes?

Our minimum age is 7 years old. We also need to specify that your child is able to reach the foot pedal of the sewing machine when sat on a chair.

Do I need to stay with my child?

No, please leave your child with us during their workshop. We have found that parents can distract children during workshops so for them to get the most out of their time with us, we ask you kindly to leave and pick them up one the class has finished. Please wait in our shop for your child to come back upstairs once the class has been dismissed. All our tutors are DBS checked and have been teaching for up to 50 years so you know your child is in safe hands.

Do you service sewing machines?

Yes! We have a machine repair technician that comes once every 2-3 weeks on Wednesday mornings. We ask that you bring your machine in on the Tuesday or Saturday before his collection date as he arrives early on a Wednesday. Sewing machines are £75 and overlockers are £85. If any parts need replacing this may incur an extra cost. No need to book in advance, we will take your details when you drop your machine off in store. Payment is taken on pickup. If your machine cannot be repaired you will not be charged but you will still need to collect your machine. We do not have a disposal service for sewing machines.

Do you do repairs, alterations, or commissions?

No, but we can teach you how to!
