Meet the Team
Carolyn Rose trained as a teacher at Sheffield Hallam University specialising in Art and Textiles. After leaving Sheffield Hallam she spent a year in Switzerland studying Art and Textiles in Zurich. On returning to the UK she started her teaching career in Coventry and spent the next 25 years teaching sewing and dressmaking in schools and adult learning centres. During this time she studied for her BA degree with the Open University.
After raising her family she was inspired to start her private sewing school in 2010 to share her passion for sewing in a relaxed and friendly environment. Carolyn teaches children, teenagers and adults and specialises in beginners to sewing, and dressmaking.
Carolyn’s husband, takes care of the hospitality, making sure everything is kept clean and tidy.
Ellie is our resident bookkeeper and sewing extraordinaire! Ellie runs her own soft furnishing business, making blinds, curtains and cushions to order.
Holly graduated with a degree in textiles and specialises in Hand Embroidery. She loves to experiment by naturally dyeing her own fabrics and keeps busy with freelance sewing and commissions. An avid sewist with an eye for detail and a flair for colour. Holly keeps the website up to date and is our in-house photographer.
Angie is the newest member of our team and extremely talented! She is a sewing and IT wizard, not to mention an all round beautiful soul. Angie creates the most stunning and intricate patchwork (amongst other things!)
Chloe is our lovely Saturday girl who creates our beautiful samples and keeps us organised by pre-cutting the fabric and patterns for our workshops. Chloe is a fantastic sewist and has been with us as a student since she was 8 years old!
Claudia is Carolyn and David's daughter. She has been helping out with all of our social media for the last 18 months. She also helps Carolyn come up with new ideas for workshops and helps choose new fabrics.
