Meet the Team
Carolyn Rose trained as a teacher at Sheffield Hallam University specialising in Art and Textiles. After leaving Sheffield Hallam she spent a year in Switzerland studying Art and Textiles in Zurich. On returning to the UK she started her teaching career in Coventry and spent the next 25 years teaching sewing and dressmaking in schools and adult learning centres. During this time she studied for her BA degree with the Open University. After raising her family she was inspired to start her private sewing school to share her passion for sewing in a relaxed and friendly environment. Carolyn teaches children, teenagers and adults and specialises in beginners to sewing, dressmaking, and a variety of crafts.
Carolyn’s husband, takes care of the hospitality, making sure everything is kept clean and tidy. He makes sure that our bicuit tin is never empty and the endless cups of tea and coffee keep flowing in our classes and workshops.
Ellie is our resident book keeper and runs her own soft furnishing business, making blinds, curtains and cushions for customers.
Holly graduated with a degree in textiles and specialises in Hand Embroidery. She loves to experiment by naturally dyeing her own fabrics and creates the most beautiful pieces of art – Holly is a beautiful bee who helps to keep our hive organised.
Tricia is our wonderfully bubbly social media wizard. She mans both our Facebook page and our Instagram, taking photos and making posts to best show off what we do here.
Britannie is the newest member of our team, joining us in 2018. She started off as a student here, taking as many courses as she could to fuel her passion for sewing and learning. Britannie is incredibly organised and always has a smile. Recently she has been working hard to build our online shop so that we can still support and supply our lovely customers with all their sewing needs.
