Meet the Team
Carolyn Rose trained as a teacher at Sheffield Hallam University specialising in Art and Textiles. After leaving Sheffield Hallam she spent a year in Switzerland studying Art and Textiles in Zurich. On returning to the UK she started her teaching career in Coventry and spent the next 25 years teaching sewing and dressmaking in schools and adult learning centres. During this time she studied for her BA degree with the Open University. After raising her family she was inspired to start her private sewing school to share her passion for sewing in a relaxed and friendly environment. Carolyn teaches children, teenagers and adults and specialises in beginners to sewing, dressmaking, and a variety of crafts.
Carolyn’s husband, is our resident chef. If you come for a full day you will enjoy one of his lunches as part of your package. He can cater for any special dietary needs (so long as you tell us at the time of booking!)
Ellie is fantastically talented and never stops sewing. Her forte is adapting garments so that they fit you perfectly. Her work is beautiful – you will usually see some of her sample garments in the shop window!
Holly graduated with a degree in textiles and specialises in Hand Embroidery. She loves to experiment by naturally dyeing her own fabrics and creates the most beautiful pieces of art – Holly is a beautiful bee who helps to keep our hive organised and runs the hand embroidery workshops.
