Join us for a creative mending Sashiko workshop!

Sashiko, meaning "little stabs" in Japanese, is a stitching technique traditionally used as a decorative reinforcement when repairing garments.

In this 4-hour beginner workshop, you’ll learn how to create hand-sewn Sashiko embroidery patterns. The workshop will begin by practicing on provided fabric, learning different methods for applying the Sashiko patterns. With support from the tutor, you will then use these skills to restore and embellish your own brought along item*. Leave feeling inspired and confident, ready to breathe new life into your favourite garments!

*Please bring along an item you wish to repair or decorate. If it’s to be repaired please bring something with a small hole or rip. Sashiko embroidery works best on woven fabrics made from cotton and linen. It works well on denim too.

Sunday 26th January 2pm-6pm including tea and cake breaks.
