Are you fed up of having trouble getting patterns to fit, with gaping armholes, draglines, pulls or misplaced darts?

On this mini-course you will learn how to use the information provided in a dressmaking pattern to determine what size will fit you best, then look at how to measure the pattern to fill in any missing info to help you spot fit issues before you even start to cut into your fabric. We’ll diagnose the fit issues and perform some simple pattern adjustments before toiling your pattern.

We’ll then fit the toile concentrating on achieving a perfect fit.  Once you have fitted your toile you can start to make your garment with the help of your tutor.

Once you have learned what adjustments you need and how to adjust any pattern, you’ll be able to make a wardrobe full clothes THAT FIT YOU!

What Will I Learn?

  • How to find the finished garment measurements for a pattern
  • How to determine what pattern adjustments you need and how to do them
  • Quick toiling techniques
  • Fitting the pattern to your body – how to note fitting comments and spot the cause and effect of poor fitting
  • Leave with knowledge to adjust future patterns for a perfect fit BEFORE cutting your fabric!
